The monkey farm

Abbie and Anna have gone through growth spurts lately, but what amazes me is the changes you can't see. Anna is turning into a young lady in mannerisms and speech and Abbie...well she has quite the imagination and vocabulary.

Yesterday, Mike and she were playing "tractor" on the Livingroom floor with various miniature metal farm equipment. She says something like "Daddy, here's the hay for the horses," as she drives up the tractor and hay wagon. And Daddy huffs, "There's no horses on this farm! This here's a cattle farm!" "Oh," Abbie says, "then we just have the monkeys?" Daddy hesitates slightly then says, "Monkeys and cattle, yes, that's what we raise here!" And then they continued bailing hay for the monkeys and cattle.

Tonight Abbie was playing with change that we keep in a glass jar. Daddy told her, "Abbie, that certainly is a lot of money you have there. How did you get all that money?" "I stole it," Abbie says nonchalantly. Daddy's all concerned now and says "Stealing isn't good you know. Stealing is a bad thing." A few seconds of silence is followed by "But Daddy, I'm going to give it to charity."

Abbie asked me the other day, "Momma, when are we gonna get Wyatt? It sure is taking a long time. It must take a long time to go to China!" Yes Abbie, it certainly does seem like its taking a long time :o)

Mike wanted a picture of this excavating job he did for his Dad. He says its not the biggest tree he's taken down (although it was humungous) but it is the biggest root ball he's had to deal with.
