Agency checking into rumor
There is a rumor that the CCAA (Chinese adoption authority) is delaying TAs due to the swine flu. Our agency posted that they have asked a representative if this was indeed true. Hopefully we'll know this week. I'm kind of blown away by this right now. I can logically see both sides of the issue, but my heart can't. We're so close, yet so vulnerable in this process.

We're anticipating our TA within the next few weeks
We're hoping we will travel in May and be back at the latest by the end of the first week of June. Hopefully the TA (travel approval) will arrive soon! We received notice from the US Consulate that they've been informed of our I-800 approval and will send that on to the US Consulate in Guangzhou. One step down, a few left to go!

Received I-800 approval today
We received our I-800Approval today and its on the way to Texas as we speak! I can't believe this is finally, really happening!
This has been an unbelievably crazy two weeks. A stomach bug went through the entire family ending with me last weekend (and it lasted the entire weekend). Abbie went through two changes of sheets in about 3 days. Thank goodness I went down at my Mom's and she took care of me all weekend. I hit my head really hard within a half hour of getting sick so we were never sure if I had the stomach bug or a concussion or a series of unrelated events. Poor Mom was ready to check my pupils and I was not cooperating! :o)
I had to download and learn a new accounting tool last week and after 5 1/2 hours of attempting to download "Payroll" for Quickbooks and only having a small amount of it, I broke down and drove to Short Pump's Verizon store and bought an aircard. Now I have high speed internet just like the rest of civilization! Thanks for the tip Lee!
We had long hours at gymnastics, an Easter present of 6 kittens in the horse barn (the Momma cat had been hiding them for 5 weeks), rainrot on the horses necessitating medicated horse bathing, home schooling, dentist, repair of our upstairs bathroom's rotton subfloor and rusted toilet flange, preparation for an Easter dinner tomorrow, bank and post office trips for adoption stuff, quarterly tax filings, and a long list of things I did and a long list of things I forgot to do.
Speaking of forgetting things...I must have pregnancy brain (apparently it has nothing to do with hormone shifts). I'm forgetting everything these days and its downright scary! Dad suggested that I use Microsoft Works on my computer and write down every little detail with reminders set to go off. I hope it helps or I'm going to ruin my credit rating!
Last free association thought: anyone want kittens? They'll be ready to go in about 2 1/2 weeks and they're really cute!

I -800 being processed in Chicago
We sent our I-800 application off to NBC Hague (America's Immigration NCIS) on Friday, March 27th by 2 day express mail which has tracking. They should have received it Monday and according to the help desk, it will take 5 days for it to make it through to our agent. When we get their approval, we immediately send it and other documents overnight to our agency in Texas who proceeds to have their contact in China get a visa for Wyatt. We may get a copy of his visa photo before we travel!
I have to get our visas but need to have 2 more passport type pictures taken of myself. As luck would have it, I have a big bruise under my right eye from wrestling with Anna yesterday. Kids heads are very hard! This reminds me of when Mike climbed up to check the heaters in a green house at school about 3 weeks before we traveled to get Anna several years ago. It was dark out so he climbed right up into a moving ventilation fan without seeing it and was practically scalped and knocked off a 12 foot ladder onto concrete. He was a sight! I can't remember how many stitches it took to get his scalp sown back together, but he had a funny haircut and very visible healing scars when we went over. It was a miracle he wasn't hurt worse judging from the fall and the amount of blood trail he left all the way from the green house into the middle of the classroom.
Also as soon as we get our I-800 approval, then we will be in the running to get our TA (travel approval) and then its off to the races. We've found flights that are relatively inexpensive and leave Richmond, have one stop and are less than 20 hours total in duration! That's awesome! I'll never forget the 30 hours of travel to get Anna. We left Reagan National, stopped in Dallas, Japan, Shanghai, then finally Beijing. We slept a grand total of 15 minutes that first series of flights and arrived in a bad kind of way :o) Things have changed a lot in 8 years!
