No news from China last night
We are awaiting confirmation of our consulate appointment for June 30th. Hopefully we will hear something tomorrow morning! I'm clearing my calendar and making long lists of things to do. Poised for action!!! Like wonderwoman....or Underdog or Mr. McGoo...

We may be leaving in a week and a half!!!!!
We're asking for a June 30th consulate appointment to avoid new legislation coming into effect July 1st regarding foreign adoption. Please pray tonight that we get this appointment. I don't think I can breathe :-)

We got our travel approval!
I got the call today that our TA had come in, however our province's adoption office is closed due to the swine flu. Our agency rep is calling China tonight to see what can be worked out. I hope we get good news tomorrow!

Forced to the rumor mill

OK, I've been forced to try to get some information, any information, from the rumor mill cause China's not talking (think Duke from Bush Beans). May 21st was the first release of child referrals since April I believe for those adopting through the regular pipeline. This week was the first week people have started receiving TA's again for the SN children. We were next in line for our TA but were skipped over. I think the TA is more dependent on the whim of the province that your child is in. Sooooo....things have started to crawl which makes me hopeful we will go this summer. Of course I'm hoping we'll go by the end of June.

No new posts by CCAA
There have been no new posts by the CCAA about reopening the country for travel to adopters and there are no new rumors either. I don't usually look for rumors but in this case I broke my own personal rule (because rumors can drive you nuts).

The CCAA would like us to wait to travel
We received an email from our agency indicating that the CCAA was concerned about the spread of swine flu from North America and wished adoptive families to not travel. They are automatically extending travel approval periods by 2 months. That's all I know for now. So, we're waiting once again for a green light to move ahead.
We appreciate so much all of your support, feedback and love during this time. We find peace in giving Wyatt back to God and in realizing He's big enough to meet Wyatt's needs with or without us. The timing thing is hard to understand as we and you have prayed all along that God's timing would be worked out, but having prayed that, we must trust in His answer. Someday we'll know the answer to the timing question whether here or above, but I'm hoping that in the end, the timing question won't seem very important.
Last night, we had a sleepover at Grandma's and as I listened to the relaxed, joyful giggling fits coming from the girls bedroom, I marveled at the life we now live together and God's provision so far in our journey. To hear my super-serious baby, Anna, and my ultra-fearful baby, Abbie, belly laughing for minutes on end brought great comfort and hope. We rejoice in finishing another year in homeschooling and really rejoice in Kaylyn's successful finishing of her first year in college! Yay Kaylyn - way to go girl!
